Jill took Cambri in to a specialist today. We knew Cambri was allergic to some things, including peanuts, but the real mystery was with everything else. Sad, because it includes some of the finer things in life.
Dogs: Good thing Cambri is about to have a sister, because she needs to have some kind of best friend. And you just never know when it comes to cats how they are going to turn out.
Shrimp: If there is a finer seafood on earth I have yet to try it. Maybe this is one of those allergies that she can eat a few and then have hives and a stomachache all night, but be okay by the time morning arrives. I am sure she will see the reward is worth the sacrifice.
Peanuts: This one was not a surprise. But peanut butter is just so good. And what about at baseball games when someone offers her a fresh-roasted peanut? Peer pressure can be so strong, and I will not always be around to protect her.
Kentucky Bluegrass: Good thing we found this out before we reseed our lawn this spring. Kentucky Bluegrass happens to be one of the more popular varieties in Denver.
If the doctor would have said she is allergic to all nuts, I would understand. Or all mammals. But these things are from different kingdoms, for crying out loud! Would someone please explain to me how this makes sense?

Poor Cambri! She is destined to lead a life deprived of some of life's greatest joys! Fortunately, she hasn't developed any of those rare yet devastating allergies to Cookie Crisp otherwise the poor thing might never have experienced happiness.
PS Peanuts are legumes and not nuts. Maybe she is also allergic to lentils and alfalfa?
How sad! How did you know to test her for shrimp? That is crazy that someone so ltitle could have so many allergies.
Congrats Jill on being so close to the end of your pregnancy. We hope all goes well for you and the little one.
