Life After Vacation

We just got back yesterday from our week-long vacation to Provo, UT. Yes, that meant that we (I) had Adam for seven full days at our (my) every beck and call. Don't feel like changing a diaper? Call Adam. Not interested in dealing with a fit? Call Adam. Need a date to the BYU/Utah game? Call Adam. I LOVE this time of year for so many reasons, but one that I'm especially grateful for is all the time that Adam gets off of work. Boyfriend works really hard and is usually gone for 13 hours of the day, meaning that the girls get to see him a whopping one hour before they go to bed. Which is why this week was so beautiful--tired of your mom? Call Adam. Want to roughhouse? Call Adam. So you see how this worked out beautifully for everybody involved (mostly me, though). And now we're getting used to Life After Vacation, which can be roughly translated to Life Without Adam. This morning we had to take a little bit of extra time to get used to the idea.

Cambri: Where's Daddy?
Me: He's at work. (or at least I was pretty sure he was there. I got up WAY after he left, so I could only hope that's where he ended up this morning.)
Cambri (with a super sad face on): But Daddy doesn't work.
Me: When we're on vacation he doesn't. But when we're at home he has to work so we can keep living in our house.
Cambri: I don't want to live in our house.

So you see, we're still struggling over here. I also can't find the cord to our camera so I can post pictures of our weekend. Mostly it's just pictures of the lights on Temple Square, but that's better than a bucket of bile. Whenever I find that, I'll be sure to post them.

We did get to go to the BYU/Utah game because David (my brother-in-law) is awesome and got us tickets. Let me tell you that I'm pretty sure my heart is still recovering after that game. When it was 4th and 18 and Hall was just about to get sacked, I was pretty much halfway up the stairs to leave before Utah could celebrate. Luckily the Bentley blood in me prevented me from not looking and thus, it was a Thanksgiving miracle.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving that all of your houses are appropriately decorated for Christmas now. If not, then you have some serious work to take care of.
